P25 Radio Performance Measurement Suite Downloads

On behalf of DHS/OIC (Department of Homeland Security/Office for Interoperability and Compatibility), the PSCR (Public Safety Communications Research) program is working to support the emergency response community and industry in their effort to accelerate the development of P25 (Project 25) standards for interoperable communications.

ITS is making available LabVIEW code developed to assist with the performance testing of P25 LMR (land mobile radio). This software is called the RPM (Radio Performance Measurement) suite. RPM software is provided “as is” and with no warranty of any kind, expressed or implied.

While RPM provides useful performance tests, additional code development is required to support the profile of the LMR under test. Using RPM to test an LMR is not possible without this further software development. Validation and changes to the software are the responsibility of the user.

RPM provides graphs and reports to view radio performance metrics for determining P25 radio performance. Once RPM is set up, you can use it to:

  • Measure P25-specific radio receive and transmit metrics for performance analysis.
  • Specify the measurements you want to analyze.
  • Analyze graphical displays to view radio performance.

Learn More about RPM

RPM includes online help you can download here for:

  • An overview of RPM functionality
  • A list of the measurement equipment RPM uses
  • Comprehensive step-by-step information for connecting devices and running RPM commands that automate LMR performance tests

RPM online help is a single compiled-HTML file that requires Microsoft Windows and Internet Explorer to view.

Request RPM

RPM is available free of charge. Send email to RPM Administrator to request the RPM software application suite.
